I spend an hour or so with every single judicial candidate, at my favorite coffee shop in the Avenues. I take the constitutional confirmation of judges very seriously. Last week two District Court nominees, this week a Supreme Court nominee. I ask tough questions I think you would ask!
I also find it a privilege to meet so many dedicated state employees. Here are two of the best. The state organization who handles the process--the Utah Commission on Criminal and Juvenile Justice is led by the extremely professional Ron Gordon. He works seamlessly with the Governor's very capable head lawyer Jaycee Skinner.
Both these state employees are quiet treasures to both the judicial system as well as the people all across our state.
